Mrs. Olene Orrick Barksdale passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Generations of Red Bay, AL. She was born December 3, 1932 in Itawamba County, MS. She lived most of her life in Red Bay and attended Red Bay Free Will Baptist Church. She retired from Lance Garment Company where she worked as a seamstress. She had a love for reading, working in her flower beds, and caring for her beloved cats.
Visitation will be Friday, November 24, 1-2 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL followed by a graveside service at Halltown Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with Bro. Steve Lindsay officiating. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Barksdale is survived by her sons, Tony Barksdale and Wade Barksdale (Carolyn); grandchildren, Jeff Barksdale (Mandy) and Lana Parrish (Daniel) and a brother, Donnie Orrick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Raymond Barksdale, her parents, Harold and Ethel Stanphill Orrick, brothers, Bill Orrick and Douglas Orrick and sisters, Edith Lancaster and Irene Letson.
