Olen (Mitch) Mitchell , 82, of Corinth was born into this world a twin on May 3, 1932 and departed this world as a loving father of two children on April 9, 2015.
A funeral service is set for Sunday, April , 12, 2015 at 2:00pm at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories w/Military Honors with burial at Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 5:00pm- 8:00pm and Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 1:00pm until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Rev. Nelson Hight and Rev. Merl Dixon will officiate the service.
Mr. Mitchell was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and a retired fork lift driver for International Harvester. He also worked at for the State Highway Department and Spun-n-Steel. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and spent 11 months and 23 days in Germany. He was a god fearing man, he loved to fish, drink coffee and play dominos with his buddies and spend as much time as possible with his family.
Survivors include his children, Joann Johnson and husband David of Corinth; Kevin Ray Mitchell of Corinth; 2 grandchildren, Mark Johnson and wife Lisa of Corinth and Jason Johnson and wife Jennelle of Michie, TN.; 6 great grandchildren, Stephanye Linton and husband Scottie, Kody Brown, Morgan Johnson, Noah Johnson all of Corinth, Jarrett Horner and Jeston Johnson both of Michie; one great granddaughter, Anyslee Linton of Corinth; 2 sisters, his twin, Beulah Mitchell of Corinth and Melba Hight and husband Jerry of Michie, TN.; 5 brothers, James Mitchell and wife Carol of Corinth, William Mitchell and wife Linda of Corinth, David Mitchell and wife Sandy of IL, Lonnie Mitchell and wife Sarah of Corinth and Ronnie Mitchell and wife Barb of IL.; a brother-in-law, Charles Holloway; the mother of his son, Patricia Ann Pounders of Corinth, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ogle and Ethel Null Mitchell; his step mother, Etta Mitchell; a brother, Ogle D. Mitchell, Jr.; 2 sisters, Dorothy Faye Mitchell and Martha Holloway; a special brother-in-law, Fred Mitchell; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Mitchell and the mother of his daughter, Ann Samples.
Pallbearers will be Larry Dunlap, Mark Johnson, Jason Johnson, Larry Tennyson, Roger Sagely and Charles Ayers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Lacy, Mr. Taterbug, Jimmy Rapper and all his coffee and domino buddies.
