Olen J. Parsons, 78, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Saturday, September 21, 2013, at his residence. He was a member of the Iuka Church of God, and a Mason and member of the Iuka Lodge #94 F&AM. He enjoyed fishing. Visitation is scheduled 10 AM until 11 AM on Monday, September 23 at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 AM on Monday, September 23, 2013, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Rodney Windham. Interment will follow in Holder Cemetery. Pallbearers include Leon Patterson, David Whitfield, Jerry McKee, Johnny McKee, Terry Ray Booker, and Jimmy Whitfield. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Edwina Parsons of Iuka; 1 son – Christopher Parsons (Teresa) of Fountain Inn, SC; 1 son in law – Harold Boothe of Iuka; 1 daughter – Donna Ashmore (Randy) of Laurens, SC; 1 sister – Shannon Seltzer of Iuka; and 2 grandchildren – Melissa Nations and Katie Parsons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olen Everett Monroe and Lela Parsons; a sister, Renelda Waldrup; and his step daughter, Diane Boothe. Memorial contributions may be made to the Holder Cemetery Fund in Burnsville, MS.
