Olen Dwain Hester, age 75, of Russellville, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Terrace Manor Nursing Home.
Dwain proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He married the love of his life, Sandra Ann James, they spent 57 years together, and he loved her right up to the end. In earlier years, he loved to skeet shoot and had won several awards for skeet shooting. He was a hard worker all of his life and believed in getting up and going to work regardless of life’s circumstances. He loved his family very much and leaves behind many memories to cherish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olen Wesley “Doc” & Beulah Mae (Taylor) Hester, and sister, Katherine Elizabeth Hester.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 57 years, Sandra James Hester; children, Greg Hester (wife, Shunda), Renee Colburn (husband, Scott); grandchildren, Tyler Hester (wife, Skylar), Mikayla Hester, Zakery Colburn; great-grandchildren, Dixie Hester, Chevy Hester, Matthew Hester; and a host of friends.
The visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 17, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Jeremy Seal officiating the service. The burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.
The pallbearers will be Randy Colburn, Jackie Goins, Tyler Hester, and Zakery Colburn. The honorary pallbearers will be Larry Everett and Rodney Smallwood.
