HUNTSVILLE-One man is dead after officers responded to a call from a State Trooper on Saturday morning, June 18.
According to reports an Alabama State Trooper called the Huntsville Police to report a possible drunk driver traveling on Highway 53 this morning around 9:30 A.M.
When police arrived on the scene the car in question was empty on Jordan Lane at the Central Square Shopping Center.
Officers searched the area for the suspect, upon returning to the car they found the man inside the auto. A fight broke out between the suspect and a police officer. Huntsville Police say the suspected drunk driver was armed. The officer shot the man and killed him.
Huntsville Police say the officer involved has been placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues.
