Odessa Benson Amos, age 86 of Winchester, went to her eternal home on Friday, December 2, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Huntland on April 18, 1936, to the late Joe and Macie (White) Benson. While her husband was in the service, she worked at the credit union in Washington DC. Upon returning to Tennessee, she worked at the hat factory until they closed and as a bookkeeper for a Glenn A. Amos Grain Company before retiring as a manager from Wal-Mart in Tullahoma. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and riding mountain trails in a side by side, and her younger years had enjoyed riding horses. Odessa will be remembered for being the most wonderful wife anyone could ever want, and the most affectionate, loving person who had no enemies and loved everyone. She was the oldest member Broadview Baptist Church, where she served as treasurer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Vernon Benson; and sister, Elizabeth Lung. Odessa is survived by her loving and devoted husband of seventy-one years, Glenn Amos of Winchester; niece, Mary Jo McElhaney of Huntsville; nephews, Ron Amos of Tullahoma; many other nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Edna Cassel, and Courtney Bole. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 8, 2022, in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Rudy Wilkinson and Bro. Charles Houston officiating.
