Obie Dean Mitchell age 56 of Decatur, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Mitchell was born July 5, 1957 in Limestone County to Obie Mitchell and Katherine Mitchell.
Services for Mr. Mitchell are Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 11:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Bro. Benny Sivley officiating.
He was a member of Decatur Baptist Church where he served in the First Touch Ministry. He was the owner and operator of Dean Mitchel Tree Care for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Mitchell of Decatur; sons, Wesley Mitchel and wife Casey of Danville and Cody Mitchell of Decatur; grandchildren, Kinlee Mitchell and Hudson Mitchell; brothers, Steve Pope and wife Susan of Raleigh, N.C., Wayne Mitchell and Bobby Mitchell both of Decatur; sisters, Debbie Cheatham and husband Gary and Ann Milligan and husband Dale both of Decatur; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Obie and Katherine Mitchell.
Pallbearers are T.J. McGee, Dustin Dickens, Brandon Shaneyfelt, Erik Sherrill, Mike Johnson, Larry Reid and Tony Green. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Wilkerson, Ron Hill and Rhea Greenwell.
