O. Travis Miles – Obituary

O. Travis Miles age 80 of Athens, passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Miles was born March 19, 1937 in Limestone County, AL to Harris F. Miles, Sr. and Bessie White Miles.

Services will be Saturday, June 3, 2017 1:00 p.m., at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Ron Oakley and Dan Hughes officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Miles was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and was retired from the United States Postal Service after 40 years. He was a former Church Nursery worker, known as Paw Paw Miles and a youth sports coach.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Harris Miles, Jr. and David Miles; one grandson, David Harrison Miles.

Survived by his wife, Gale Tomerlin Miles of Athens; one daughter, Latricia Smith and husband, Bryan of Athens; two sons, Larry Miles and wife, Nancy of Madison, AL and Lebron Miles of Huntsville, AL; one grandson, Miles Smith.

Pallbearers will be Rick Mould, B.B. Townsend, Hershal Swanner, Jeff Glaze, Jeff Musolf and Daniel Metcalff.
