MUSCLE SHOALS-Northwest-Shoals Community College held a Metallica Scholars Manufacturing Day Thursday, October 21, on the Shoals campus from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Manufacturing Day is held annually on the first Friday in October to promote manufacturing careers with events held throughout the month. NW-SCC will provide an opportunity for college students, high school students, and the general public to experience and learn more about six manufacturing careers: Carpentry, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Industrial Maintenance, Machining, and Welding.

Metallica Scholars Manufacturing Day this year was no different.  The students had a great time with a twist.  Along with visits to each of the six manufacturing careers offered by NWSCC there was a benefit concert sponsored in part by the Metallica Scholars featuring the NWSCC choir, Iron Horse and The Fiddleworms.  All proceeds from the concert will benefit students in Advanced Manufacturing and Construction Programs at Northwest Shoals.
