NW-SCC students receive Automotive Manufacturing Scholarships

MUSCLE SHOALS & PHIL CAMPBELL-Two students from Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) were among the 56 students in the state to be awarded a $3,600 scholarship to study in automotive manufacturing programs at Alabama’s community colleges.

The scholarships are a result of the partnership between the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association and the Alabama Community College System. The scholarship program was designed to build interest in the exciting and rewarding careers in the automotive industry offers.

Each student was required to have at least a 2.5 GPA and to submit an essay on why he or she wants to work in Alabama’s automotive industry. Along with a transcript, each student also submitted a reference letter. The scholarship covers up to $3,600 ($1,800 for two semesters within the current fiscal year, Spring, Summer, or Fall 2022) of tuition, fees, and books.

Since 2001, the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA) has provided awareness of manufacturing trends, techniques and concerns within the automotive manufacturing industry through interaction among automotive companies in Alabama. The association’s mission is to promote growth and continuous improvement of automotive manufacturing in Alabama.
