Nugie “PeeWee” Joel Beverly, 84, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Madison Hospital, Madison, Alabama. Mr. Beverly was born in Toney, Alabama, October 27, 1938 to Nugie Beverly and Estell Rhoden Beverly.
Mr. Beverly was the former owner of Beverly Welding and welded on the Lunar Rover Vehicle (the moon buggy). He raced at Huntsville Speedway where he was a former track Champion. He had an interest and love of old coins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald Beverly and Wendell Beverly; sisters, Joyce Beverly and Sharon Clark, and son-in-law, Rickey Woods.
He is survived by his wife, Janie Finley Beverly of Ardmore, TN; son, Tim (Pat) Beverly of Harvest, AL; daughter, Tina Woods of Elkmont, AL; brothers, Rayburn Beverly of Laceys Spring, AL and Lanis (Peggy) Beverly of Toney, AL; sister, Linda (Harry) Lincoln of Elkmont, AL; grandchildren, Ashley (Zack) Carter of Hazel Green, AL, Matthew Woods of Elkmont, AL, and Alley (Justin) Fields of Ardmore, AL; great grandchildren, Makynzie Carter and Case Fields; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 16, 2023 from 5PM – 8PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with a Chapel Service Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 2PM with Bro. Jeff Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in GoLightly Cemetery, Toney, AL.
