MUSCLE SHOALS-Northwest Shoals Community Collegeโ€™s (NWSCC) Adult Education Program will hold the 2025 Adult Education Graduation ceremony Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the Patriot Center (Gym) on the Shoals Campus.

Lindsay Cline, director of strategic partnerships for the U.S. Navy Maritime Industrial Base, will deliver the keynote address.

Cline says she knows success doesnโ€™t always come with a straight path, and sheโ€™s living proof that your past does not define your future. After dropping out of high school, she went on to earn both a bachelorโ€™s and a masterโ€™s degree. At age 43, she was awarded her high school diplomaโ€”proof that itโ€™s never too late to finish what you started.

Today, Cline helps lead national and trilateral efforts to strengthen the workforce behind submarine and ship production. She has spent her entire career focused on connecting people to purposeโ€”especially in skilled trades and manufacturing. Her work opens doors for those ready to work hard, learn fast, and build meaningful careers, no matter where they started.
According to the NWSCC Adult Education Program, 118 students have completed requirements for their GED or High School Diploma Option (HSDO) between July 2024 and June 2025.
The HSDO helps students who either dropped out of high school without earning the necessary credits to graduate or did not pass one or all parts of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam (which is no longer administered).
