Norman Fennell, age 89 of Hackleburg, passed away Friday, December 21, 2024 at Russellville Hospital in Russellville, Alabama.
Norman was a graduate of Jeanette High School. He later earned a degree in mathematics from Duncan College in Pittsburgh as well as a degree in forestry from Penn State. Norman retired from U.S. Steel and Blue Cross of Alabama. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and an avid booklover.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 26, 2024 from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home where the service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Marty Guntry officiating. Burial will be in Old Line cemetery in Hodges.
Norman is survived by his wife of 37 years, Peggy Baker; daughter, Penny Fennell of Douglasville, Georgia; grandsons, Mickel Berkheimer of Pennsylvania, Erick Berkheimer of Georgia; great-grandson, Logan; stepson, Byron (Tina) Davis of Tupelo, Mississippi; stepgranddaughter, Whitney (Dillon) Busboom of Mississippi, and Baylie Busboom of Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Gavin and Eva Fennell, and granddaughter, Shelby Berkheimer.
