Mrs. Norma Stephanie Johansen Whiting passed away Thursday morning in Lineville, AL. No services are planned at this time but her ashes will be buried in Athens, TN.
Mrs. Whiting was born in Brooklyn, NY and had only lived in Clay County about seven years.
She is survived by her children, Eugene Frank Whiting(Kathy) of Palm City, FL, Marie Jeanette Gasser(Jim) of Lineville, AL, Glenn Austin Whiting(Connie) of Athens, TN, Randy Leland Whiting(Julie) of Orlando, FL and Eric Matthew Whiting(Dawn) of Athens, TN; grandchildren: Kristen(Jake) Neves, Chris(Hannah) Gasser, Ben(Gloria) Gasser, Greg(Melody) Gasser, Shawna(Harrison) Hart, Matthew(Amy Phillips) Whiting, Samuel(Holly) Whiting, Emily(Wes) Wilhoit, Jeremiah Whiting, Jacob(Lily Amaya) Whiting, Josh(Dorothy) Whiting, Gene Whiting and Chelsea Kanicsar; great-grandchildren: Morgan Neves(Adam) Felch, Patrick Neves, Emily Neves, Dietrich Gasser, Kimiko Gasser, Toviel Gasser, Zygfryd Gasser, Reynard Gasser, Joseph Gasser, Annie Gasser, Adelaide Gasser, Cassandra Gasser, Eileen Gasser, Isabelle Hart, Gracie Whiting, Macie Whiting, Adaline Wilhoit, Porter Wilhoit, Adelina Whiting, Henry Whiting, Serenity Whiting, Eugene James(EJ) Whiting and Piper Whiting; great-great-grandchildren, Charlette Felch and Xavier Felch.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Lennox Whiting; her parents, John and Stephanie Johansen; siblings, Carl Johansen, Robert Johansen and Marie Anne Glass Lawther; grandchildren, Jonathon Whiting and Shelby Whiting.
