Norma Ruth (Scott) Sims – Obituary

Funeral service for Norma Ruth (Scott) Sims, age 88, formerly of Decatur, will be Monday, December 10, 2012, 1:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Taylor officiating.  The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at the funeral home.  Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Chambers County, Alabama.

Mrs. Sims, who died Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Mount Royal Towers in Birmingham, was born April 25, 1924, in Lincolnton, GA to John H. Scott and Ruth Wright Scott.  She was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church and a member of the Gideon Auxiliary’s Morgan West Camp.

She is survived by one son, Bernie Sims (Laura) of Montgomery; two daughters, Madeline Williams (Greg) and Carla Needham (Rick), both of Birmingham; two sisters, Maebelle Cryder of Elberton, GA, and Olivia Smalley of Lincolnton, GA; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Harry Higgins; and two sisters-in-law, Virginia Cottrell and Cathryn Hadaway.

Pallbearers will be family.
