Norma SaylorNorma Lee Estes Saylor of Arab, Alabama, and Taylor, Michigan, passed away on Good Friday, March 29,2024, at the age of 94. She was born on December 23, 1929. Norma worked as a Head Cook for The Taylor School District for many years. Norma was married to Luther Frank Saylor, an Army Veteran, for 69 years at the time of his passing March 1, 2017.

The Saylors have four daughters, Nancy Weycker, of Brownstown Twp, LouAnn Smedsrud, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Karen Saylor, of Taylor, Michigan, and Laura Saylor, of Taylor, Michigan. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren: Christopher & Susan Weycker, Meghan Smedsrud Stecki & Joshua Smedsrud, and Jeremy Milbank, & Tarah Milbank Brown. Norma’s four great grandchildren are Kate Weycker, Isabella & Noah Stecki, and Elijah Brown. Norma leaves behind a brother, Reverend Jessie Estes. Norma loved God & her family. This included all of her nieces & nephews. She was best known for her great cooking & kind heart.

A Special Service will be held at The New Salem Baptist Church, 590 Center Grove Road in Somerville, Alabama 35670. The viewing will be from 11:00 p.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024. The service will begin at Noon followed by a luncheon in the fellowship hall of the church. Speakers will be Reverend Frankie Flack, Reverend Jessie Estes, brother of the deceased, and David Estes, nephew of the deceased. The Eulogy will be delivered by daughter, LouAnn Smedsrud, followed by a scripture reading from daughter, Nancy Weycker. The service will end with special words from granddaughters Meghan Stecki & Tarah Milbank. The burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing.

Pallbearers: Joseph Weycker, Richard Milbank, Jeremy Milbank, Joshua Smedsrud, Michael Hubbard, Max Brown, & Tommy Stallings.
