Norma Jean Wood – Obituary

Norma Jean Wood was born June 16, 1932 in Lexington, TN the daughter of the late W W Robinson and Bernice Blankenship. She was united in marriage to James E. Wood on May 18, 1952.

Mrs. Wood was a faithful member of the Adamsville Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for many years as well as frequently assisting those in need. She enjoyed knitting, cross stitch, painting, having a pretty yard, and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Wood departed this life on August 4, 2017 in Adamsville at the age of 85 Years, 1 Month, 19 Days.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James E. Wood of Adamsville, TN; three sons, Steven M. Wood and wife Carolyn of Saltillo, TN, James Randall Wood and wife Christa of Pendleton, IN, Terry L. Wood of Adamsville, TN; nine grandchildren, Jamey Wood and wife Amy, Matthew Wood and wife Susan, Erica DeLavergne and husband Luke, Morgan Myers and husband William, Randall Wood, Robin Wood, Catherine Grasham and husband Kyle, Caroline Sils and husband Drew, Darren Bart and wife Alyssa and numerous great grandchildren; a sister, Alice Morgan of Lexington, TN; a close friend, Dwana Garrison, whom she loved as a daughter.

In addition to her parents, Mrs Wood was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Gammon, and a brother, Robert McPeake.
