Norma Jean Pickens, 96, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Sunshine Healthcare in Pontotoc where she resided for a little over a year. She was born August 13, 1928 and she lived in Shannon most of her life. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She lived a long and purposeful life. She was a wonderful cook, baker, and was best known for her pineapple cakes, and she enjoyed gardening. She was a faithful member of Brewer Baptist Church for over 30 years.
She is survived by her children, Donnie Pickens (Debbie), Ricky Pickens (Deb), Danny Pickens (Barbara), Randy Pickens (Pam), Vickie Allred (Tim), Dianne Phillips, and Deanna Buffaloe; grandchildren, Lyle Pickens, Rebekah Pickens Johnson, Ken Phillips, Julie Patridge (Craig), Jennifer Buffaloe, Danielle Cunningham, Emily Pickens, Lance Pickens (Jessica), Harrison Jennings Pickens, Anna Catherine Pickens, 11 great grandchildren, and sister, Bobbie Sheffield.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mable Crosby.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Lee Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm at Lee Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie McPherson officiating. Burial will be in Shannon Cemetery. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Pallbeares will be Lyle Pickens, Lance Pickens, Ken Phillips, Tim Allred, Robert Allen Godfrey, and Tommy Lindsey.
