Ms. Norma Faye McCrory Buttner, age 83, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at NHC Columbia in Columbia, Tennessee.
Ms. Buttner was born in Memphis on September 5, 1931, to the late Charles McCrory and Eloise Moss McCrory. She was the widow of the late Charles Reinhold Buttner and the mother of the late Linda Buttner Sigman, who preceded Ms. Buttner in death by only a few weeks.
During her life, Ms. Buttner served in several roles. She worked as an administrative assistant for Armstrong Relocation for many years before selling real estate. Most recently, Ms. Buttner was a homemaker. She was also a member of 2nd Presbyterian Church in Memphis. In her spare time, Ms. Buttner enjoyed playing bridge and Scrabble.
Ms. Buttner is survived by her former son-in-law: Dr. Dennis Sigman; her grandchildren: Allison (Keith) Jackson, Stephen Sigman, and Bradley Sigman; her great-grandson, Charles Jackson; and her siblings: James McCrory, Ann Hodges, and Joyce Bowman. Ms. Buttner is preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Eloise McCrory; her husband: Charles Buttner; her daughter: Linda Sigman; and her siblings: Nell Handleman, Sarah Smith, Charlie McCrory, Pete McCrory, and Jack McCrory.
Graveside services for Ms. Buttner will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 10:30 a.m.
