Norma Dean Henson Smith,83, passed away October 23 at her residence on Wyeth Mountain in Guntersville Alabama. Ms.Smith was born March 28 ,1940 to parents Norman and Florence Henson in Guntersville Alabama. She was a beloved daughter, Mother, Grandmother , Great Grandmother, Great Great Grandmother, Aunt, sister and friend. She was a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church No 1. She loved her family, especially the babies. Her life was a hard one but she always triumphed no matter the struggles. She enjoyed growing flowers, painting, puzzles, woodworking and doing all kinds of special things for those she loved.
She is survived by her daughters, Janet Henson Weathington (Ray) of Ohatchee, Alabama;,Clara Smith Ashley of Guntersville Alabama and Melissa Smith Farmer (C.W.) of Union Grove Alabama. Her sons ,Justin Keith Smith of Guntersville, Alabama; Charles Smith (Sonja) of Guntersville, Alabama. Brothers Garland Henson (Bobbie); Jessie Ken Henson (Kaye); sisters Harriet Henson and Glenda Henson Hyde (Don),11 Grandchildren,24 Great Grandchildren,3 Great Great Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Norman Henson and Florence Daniel Henson. Her sister Bessie Henson Davis; brother Seaborn Henson; son in law, Anthony Ashley and Great Grandson Jonathan Farmer.
Her services will be held at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville, Alabama with visitation, Friday October 27 2023 ) 6pm-8pm(extended family and friends) and funeral services, Saturday October 28, 2023 at 2pm at Carr Funeral Home followed by graveside services at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church No 1. Officiated by Brother Carey Sims. Pallbearers are Chris Weathington, Chip Weathington ,Joshua Farmer ,Brandon Smith Joshua Abercrombie and Chance Weathington.
