Norma D. Munn – Obituary

Mrs. Norma D. Munn, age 86 of Bolivar, Tennessee, passed from this life Tuesday morning, May 2, 2017 at McNairy County Health Care Center in Selmer.

A native of Grenada, MS, she was the daughter of the late Charlie L. and Dollie Bickerstaff Anthony. She was a 1949 graduate of Grenada High School and had attended the University of Memphis. She was married to Mr. Howard Munn until his death over 25 years ago and moved Bolivar from Memphis around 1995. Mrs. Munn was a Baptist in belief.

In her lifetime, she had held many professional positions. She was a zip code trainer for the United States Postal Service during the implementation of the system; worked as a court clerk; assisted others in building/composing professional resumes; transcribed medical records for Jackson-Madison County General Hospital; and organized charitable events for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (where she was a long-time donor). She also had worked for AT&T and Wal-Mart. Mrs. Munn was a volunteer with the Hardeman County Literacy Council and loved to knit and crochet, in her leisure time.

She is survived by two sisters, Freda A. Yeager of Bolivar and Barbara G. Hopper of Germantown; one brother, Mark T. Anthony of Rockville, MD; her sister-in-law, Nancy Anthony of Bolivar; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Eddie L. Anthony on November 20, 2007.
