  Nora Mae Ashe Profile PhotoNora Mae Burks Ashe was born September 2, 1930 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Roy Burks and Omie Gray Burks Lipford.

Nora Mae was united in marriage to Uthel Dee Ashe on February 15, 1947. Mr. Ashe preceded her in death on June 7, 2014.

A faithful member of Union Grove Methodist Church, Nora Mae touched the lives of numerous children as a Sunday teacher. Her faith was evident not only in her teachings but also through her active participation in the Methodist Women and her role as a sponsor for youth groups

Throughout her life, she and Uthel dedicated their time to serving others through Meals on Wheels. Nora Mae’s professional journey spanned 33 years at Brown Shoe Company, Factory V, but her most cherished role was that of a loving homemaker with her gentle spirit and nurturing heart.

Mrs. Ashe departed this life on November 2, 2024 in Stantonville, Tennessee at the age of 94 Years, 2 Months.

She is survived by two daughters, Judy Hammons of Stantonville, TN, Sherry Eno and husband Buddy of Cordova, TN; a son, Stanley Ashe and wife Jeanie of Killen, AL; six grandchildren, Jonathan Hammons, Ashley Ainsworth, Rachel Brinkmeyer, Brooke Hammons, Andrew Ainsworth, Jordan Ashe; 11 great grandchildren;3 great great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Marecle and husband Rickey of Corinth, MS; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ashe was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Jean Ainsworth; siblings: Francis Gray, Tom Burks, Wilford Gray, Herb Burks, Jimmy Lipford, and Ruth Lipford; and a dear sister-in-law, Evelyne Sanders.
