Nora Emily McClain Penenger was born on January 2, 1941 to George and Myrtle McClain in Des Moines, Iowa and entered heaven on November 10, 2024 in Starkville, Mississippi.

Nora grew up in Des Moines, IA and lived in Brantford, Ontario, Ruston, LA, and Schererville, IN before retiring in Starkville MS. Nora was active in her church teaching Sunday School, working in AWANA, served as church secretary in Brantford, ON and creating 2 church libraries in Des Moines, IA and Starkville, MS where she enjoyed sharing her love of reading and learning to those she served. Nora attended Fellowship Baptist Church and was well loved by those she met.

Nora was preceded in death by her parents Myrtle Longstrenth McClain and George Frederick Allen McClain.

Survived by her husband of 64 years, Milton Penenger, daughters Melinda Howard (Chris) and Anita Winger (Jeff), both of Starkville MS. Five Grandchildren, Laura Dykstra (Josh) of Loveland, CO, Thomas Howard of Marion, MS, John Winger, Nathan Winger, and Emily Winger all of Starkville, MS and 2 Great Grandchildren Luke Dykstra and Grace Dykstra of Loveland, CO.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Samaritan’s Purse or the Gideon’s, Int. organizations.
