Noel David Turner II, age 79, passed away Friday, June 14, 2024 at Traceway Retirement Community. He was born July 22, 1944 in Talladega, Alabama to Noel David Turner Sr. and Mary Morris Turner Jones. After his high school graduation, he began his career in trucking, retiring as logistics manager in the furniture industry. Noel also had a career in the Army National Guard from which he retired after many years of service. Earlier in his life, Noel was an avid runner of marathons and enjoyed gardening. He was married to Verna Lee Turner and they enjoyed 57 years of marriage before her passing in 2021. Noel was a dedicated member of Faith Baptist Church in Saltillo.
He leaves behind five children, Jeff Turner (Michelle) of Livonia, Michigan, Stephanie Carrouth (Lynn) of Beaverton, Alabama, Chris Turner (Tonia) of Gulf Breeze, Florida, Heather Carruth (Terry) of Hamilton, Alabama, and Allen Turner (Rachel) of Tallassee, Alabama; three sisters, Amelia Scott (Tom, Lucretia Hurst, and Susan Chandler (Burt); two sisters-in-law, Arleen Mitchell and Rosemary Shulch; two brothers-in-law, George Mitchell and Buddy Evans; grandchildren, Stephen, Adam, Aaron, Jessica, Amanda Luke Bobby, Autumn, Anna Claire, and Reed; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Verna; and a brother, John Turner.
Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Pegues, Saltillo. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, June 17 at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues with Dr. Phil Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery.
