Noah Edward Underwood, 76, Tuscumbia, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Visitation will be Sunday, June 9, 2024, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at his home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at Valley Grove Baptist Church, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Glendale Cemetery, Leighton.

Ed was a life-long member of Valley Grove Baptist Church and a veteran of the US National Guard. Until his retirement in 2017, he worked in the agricultural industry as a John Deere dealer and a farmer for over fifty years. He also served on the board of directors for Trigreen Equipment and was a charter board member of First Metro Bank. He enjoyed spending time with a host of friends and family. Recounting stories of his childhood memories and more recent adventures with friends would sometimes make him laugh until he cried. One of his favorite titles was “Papa” because he took great pride in advising and loving his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a devoted husband and father, always a source of stability and encouragement. The absence of his unconditional love, quick wit, and guidance will leave a void in their lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alma Underwood; grandson, William Andrew Sharp; and siblings, Alice Jo Duke, Billy Underwood, and Jerry Underwood.

Until her recent passing, Ed was survived by his wife, Carol McGee Underwood; children, Mike Underwood, Dana Lindsey (Brian), Myra Sharp (Doug), and Monica Underwood; brother, Wayne Underwood; sister, Barbara Underwood Young; grandchildren, Myles Underwood, Mallory Underwood, Caroline Lindsey, Meredith Lindsey, Ashlyn Upshaw (James), Emilee Broschinski (Josh), Braden Barnes (Lanigan), and Abby Barnes; and great-grandchildren, Norah Upshaw, Liam Upshaw, and Elliott Broschinski.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Howard, Jimmy Hughston, McCoy Underwood, Larry Lee Underwood, Richard Lee Hampton, Jim Brumley, Braden Barnes, and Myles Underwood. Honorary pallbearers will be King Streater, Junior Samano, Josh Broschinski, James Upshaw, John Trousdale, Jackson Conner, and Logan Smothers.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Junior, Julia, and Damian Samano; Amedisys Hospice; Tammy Sanders; and Jenn Stokes for their extra special care and support. They would also like to thank Linda Hollaway for her loyalty to him, their family, and his business.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saddle Up for St. Jude, 121 East Sixth Street, Tuscumbia, AL 35674
