Nina Mae Pendlum, 73 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023. Mrs. Pendlum was born on January 3rd, 1950, in Seymour, Indiana, to Morris and Odessa Inman Bridgewater.
Nina was a beloved wife, mother, and “Nana” who made everything better for everyone in her life. She was a talented hair designer and stylist for 40 years. She truly loved her calling through which she was able to touch so many lives through faith, caring, compassion, and generosity. She was a member of Isom’s Chapel UMC for 34 years. Nina was kind, brave, and strong, and a true champion for her family and those in her life. She will be greatly missed as she embarks on the beginning of her eternal life.
Nina was preceded in death by her father Morris Bridgewater, mother Odessa Bridgewater (Inman), and brother Morris Bridgewater (Junior). She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jerry Pendlum, sister Gloria Bridgewater (Eugene), daughters Dawn Latham and Amanda (Mandy) McMeans and dear son-in-law Christian McMeans. Grandchildren are Maddie McMeans, Lillie Latham, Laurel Latham, and Gage McMeans.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00pm on Monday, November 6th at Isom’s Chapel in Athens. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm at Isom’s Chapel UMC (16230 Mooresville Road, Athens) with Brother Bill Stone officiating, with prayer by Brother Mike Banks. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
