We are sad to announce the passing of Nicholas (Nick) Louis Leone, 89, of Huntsville, AL on July 10th, 2024. Nick was an amazing role model. Kind, loving, and dedicated, he was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and kept his wonderful sense of humor
Nick was born in Huntington, NY. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytech Institute in 1957 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force specializing in Ordinance, with 20 years of dedicated service. Nick and his cherished wife Margaret enjoyed travelling and journeyed all over the globe from the Great Wall of China to the Northwest passage of Alaska with Italy, Germany, France, Greece and many other world destinations in the mix! Nick was an avid golfer, reader and wonderful cook! No one has been able to duplicate his famous meatball recipe!
Nick was a faithful member to his Catholic church, Holy Spirit, and very committed to community service. He assisted in the Angel Flight organization and was a member of the Elks club, Rotary club, and a devoted election worker.
Nick is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Margaret; daughters, Sandra Kabler (Kent) and Gayle Gilley (Scott); grandchildren, Michael, Patrick, Kate, and Stephen; brother, Robert Leone (Karen); sister, Pamela Leone; and nephews, Joseph and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Michele, and parents, Nicholas and Bessie Leone.
A memorial service will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Huntsville, AL on Tuesday, July 16th 10:00am.
