Mrs. Newana Pool Barnes died Wednesday, July 25, at Shelby Medical Center in Alabaster. She was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Lawrence County to Gabe Pool and Laura Hall Pool. Mrs. Barnes was a homemaker and long time member of Hatton Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow (Tippy) Pool Barnes.
Survivors include one son, Don Barnes (Linda) of Birmingham; two daughters, Janice Conner (Bill) of Alabaster and Patricia Webb (Jim) of Birmingham; one brother, Carl Pool of Muscle Shoals; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
