regional careFLORENCE – The State of Alabama has approved the final step in the approval process for RegionalCare Hospital Partners to build a new state-of-the-art hospital. The approval came just a few hours ago, according to a confidential source.

This has been a long struggle for the company, based in Brentwood, Tennessee. The company purchased Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital several years ago, and has been working on the approval to construct a new hospital amid much controversy. The conflict involved Heller Keller Hospital in Sheffield. At issue was the number of beds and scope of services that the new Lauderdale facility would offer.

Apparently, that has all been successfully argued by RegionalCare. Start date for the construction of the new complex on Veterans Drive has not been revealed as of this writing.
