Nettie Sue Cole, 81, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Monday, August 12, 2024 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Bro. R.C. Borden officiating. Burial will be at Midway Memorial Garden.
Born on July 27, 1943 to the late Elbert and Linnie Bruton Borden, Sue was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She loved working with flowers and previously owned and ran City Florist and Cole’s Corner Florist in Moulton.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Vinson Cole; children, Richard Cole, Ross Cole, Robin (Huston) Bohannon, and Rex Cole; daughter-in-law, Shelia Cole; grandchildren, Erica (Paul) Radford, Samantha (Caleb) Burleson, Amber Blackburn, Jessica (Brandon) Hall, Brandon (Linda) Bohannon, Jeremy (Tera) Cole, Haley Underwood, Jace (Lauren) Cole, and Amanda (Chris) Terry; 29 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Cox, Alice (Willard) Wilkerson, and Kay (Jim) Bigelow; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rodney Cole; great-grandson, Trip Radford, and sister, Gladys Morris.
Pallbearers will be Jace Cole, Jeremy Cole, Brandon Hall, Caleb Burleson, Chris Terry, and Brandon Bohannon.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. McElroy and his staff, Brandie Smith and Steve’s Drugs along with Sue’s many family and friends.
