Mrs. Nepp-Lois BENNEFIELD-Lois (Bolding) Bennefield
Funeral Services 2:00 p.m. – Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Officiating in the service for Mrs. Bennefield, Dennis Latham and Ronald Earwood. Song leader Tyler Hughes.
Mrs. Bennefield was born June 17, 1928, to parents Ernest and Verna (Tuttle) Bolding. Preceded in death by husbands Mr. John B. Coker, Mr. Milford L. Humphries, and Mr. Vernell Bennefield. Two children, John W. Coker, and Carol J. (Coker) White. Siblings, two sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Bennefield is survived by daughter Judy (Coker) Fincher, daughter Nancy (Danny) Hughes, daughter Amy (Carl Eddy) Blocker, granddaughter Anna Fincher, grandson Jay Fincher, granddaughter Lori (Jeremy) Briscoe, grandson Greg (Lora) Coker, granddaughter Carrie (Greg) Abercrombie, grandson Tyler (Ashley) Hughes, Trey (Emily) Hughes, granddaughter Kelsey (Brandon) Evatt, grandson Matthew(Rebecca) Harris, fifteen great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bennefield was a life-long resident of the Hulaco (Joppa, Alabama) Community. She was a member of the Hebron Church of Christ, Joppa, Alabama. She looked forward to worship service, worshipping faithfully. She shared fond stories about her young days in “Hyatt Bottoms.” Mrs. Bennefield loved her family heritage. As a young child her family were farmers growing garden vegetables and raising necessary livestock both for farming and food. Although times were difficult for the children, her parents were skillful in providing food and love for the children. She spoke about her father who was fortunate to have parents who owned a general store. When the stock market crash of 1929 came, however, Mr. Bolding’s father was a compassionate man who would trade necessary food and other essential products to customers for animals.
Mrs. Bennefield attended Ryan High School, graduating in 1946. During her high school years she often assisted teachers in the classrooms. The principal saw the potential in Mrs. Bennefield and located a job for her upon graduation.
Mrs. Bennefield was employed by Blue Bell Manufacturing Company, Arab, Alabama over 25 years of her younger life. Later in life Mrs. Bennefield began selling used uniforms to customers who needed used clothing at an affordable price. Mrs. Bennefield along with her husband were in the used uniform business for 20 years.
Mrs. Bennefield enjoyed growing her vegetable garden, going to the park, bird watching, and sitting in at Wallace classes with Anna. She enjoyed yard sales, traveling with family members, taking care of her lawn, and spending time with family and friends.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Bennefield’s interment Billy Bishop, Dennis Bishop, Danny Hughes Bruce Light, Blaine Stith, LB White.
Honorary pallbearers are Grandsons, Nephew Ricky Fleming, Michael Light, Michael Smith. Burial will take place immediately following the service at the Hebron Church of Christ cemetery, Joppa, Alabama. Arrangements entrusted to Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
