Nellie Jones age 90, of the Dibrell Community of Warren County, passed away Sunday morning May 5, 2024, at NHC of McMinnville. She was born November 4, 1933, to her parents the late Johnny and Mary Young Waggoner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Beatrice Waggoner; sisters, Mozel Martin, Maureen Hickman, and Rebecca Hickman; brothers, Joe Waggoner, Truman Waggoner, and Grady Waggoner; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jones was affiliated with New Life United Pentecostal Church and a retired shirt factory worker. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Winston Jones of McMinnville; sister, Suzie White of Smithville; children, W. D. (Gayle) Jones of McMinnville, Kathy (Joe) Driver of Smithville, Aline Jones of McMinnville, Wanda (Jimmy) Dunn of McMinnville, and Candy (Rocky) Simmons of McMinnville; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 2:PM Wednesday May 8, 2024, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in Jones Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday 3:PM until 7:PM and Wednesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 2:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Jones family.
