Nellie Bishop McCormick, age 86 of Boaz, passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 at Marshall Medical Center South.
There will be a graveside service for Mrs. McCormick at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Forrest Home Cemetery. Rev. Jeff Bennett will officiate. Pallbearers will be Harvey Martin, Jeff Blackwood, Todd Blackwood, David McCormick, Jonathan McCormick and Marty Naylor.
Visitation will be from 1:30 until 2 before the service at the cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Troy Edward McCormick, son, Philip (Sally) McCormick and Stephen (Laurie) McCormick, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren, sisters, Margaret Wooten and Kathryn Crabtree, several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and LolaBell Bishop and her sister, Pearl Bishop.
She married Troy December 10, 1949. In the 71 years of marriage, they raised two boys and in that time she became a member of Howelton Church of God. She served the Lord and taught Sunday School. She had been a Christian for 60 years and a Sunday school teacher for 45 of those years. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She sang in the church choir and in the kitchen. She loved cooking for her family. She always believed family was important.
