Nellie B. Droke was born April 25, 1936 in Lovettsville, VA the daughter of the late Sam and Nellie Parks Bowen.
She was united in marriage to Delmas Droke, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Droke graduated from Warrenton High School in Virginia. She was employed as a frameman for the former South Central Bell Telephone Company and retired from AT&T after 35 years of service. Mrs. Droke enjoyed playing card games, visiting casinos, traveling, and sharing a good meal, but her favorite activity was spending time with her family and friends whom she loved dearly. She was a member of Whitten Memorial Baptist Church in Memphis.
Mrs. Droke departed this life on April 27, 2020 in Bethel Springs, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 2 Days. She is survived by two sons, Terry Plunk of Olive Branch, MS and Tony Alan Plunk of Kearneysville, WV; a daughter, Linda Brown of Finger, TN; a step-son, Ray Droke of Tipton County, TN; a step-daughter, Lezli Droke of Memphis, TN; eight grandchildren: Samantha Plunk, Jennifer West, Jennifer Black, Amy Austin, Brandon Brown, Joshua Jacobs, Joseph Plunk, and Jordan Plunk; 18 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Charlie Bowen, Billy Bowen, David Bowen, and Earl Bowen; five sisters: Katherine Spring, Janice Benthall, Pam Albright, Dorothy Swain, and Margie Lugo; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Droke was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia Mohrhoff; two grandchildren, John Mohrhoff and Justin Black; and a sister, Mary Edna Bowen.
Mrs. Droke will have a private family graveside service.
