Nell Renfroe Lindsey

Nell Renfroe Lindsey, 92, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Generations of Red Bay.  She was born in Baldwyn, MS to Newman Renfroe and Grace Pannell Renfroe.  She was a faithful member of Pineville Missionary Baptist Church.   Nell was retired as a supervisor working for many years in garment manufacturing. Her life of serving others started with her children and grandchildren, but carried over to the community, church and at Generations nursing home.  She was a great example of how we serve through love.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 22, at 1 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, AL with Bro. John Oliver, Bro. Rick Bradley and Bro. J.C. Blackburn officiating.  Burial will be in Sandy Springs Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

She is survived by her children, Linda Oliver (John) and Kenneth Lindsey (Debbie); sisters, Martha Milton and Willowdean Tessener (Sid) and Evelyn Davis (Harold); brothers, Ralph Renfroe, Bill Renfroe and David Renfroe (Glinda); grandchildren, Greg Oliver (Shauna), Chris Oliver, Tracy Allen (Brian), Kevin Lindsey (Shawna), Marisa Wingo (Isaac), Maria Davis (Jamie) and Craig Lindsey (Tabitha); 29 great-grandchilden; 13 great-great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Lindsey; son, Dennis Lindsey; parents; brother, Taft Renfroe; sister, Eloise Mink (George); granddaughter, Melanie Humphries brother-in-law, Jesse Milton and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Renfroe.

Pallbearers will be Greg Oliver, Chris Oliver, Kevin Lindsey, Craig Lindsey, Brian Allen, Ryan Oliver, Peyton Lindsey, D.J. Elrod, Tra Elliott, Brock Raper, Isaac Wingo, Jamie Davis, Matthew Barrett, Sam Thomas, Bradley Lindsey, Jacob Legg, Asher Wingo and Isaiah Wingo.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 22, 11-1 at Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL.
