Graveside Services for Mrs. Nelda Parker, age 74 of Ashland, were held on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at Clay County Memory Gardens with John Parker officiating.
Mrs. Parker passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Clay County Nursing Home. She always enjoyed cooking and sharing big meals. Singing in the choir was a big part of her church life. As a private person, she enjoyed watching old movies, crocheting and making blankets for the people she loved.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam Cody (Larry) of Delta; three sons: John Parker (Ann) of Forest City, NC; Scotty Parker (Melanie) of Ashland; and Ronny Parker (Chris) of Savannah, GA; her sister, Sandra J. Sanders of Tuscaloosa; seven grandchildren: Blake Cody, Josh Parker, Brandy Welch, Coy Guffy, Will Parker, Brody Parker and Amanda Parker; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Carroll and Cora Imogene Presley Carroll; her husband, John L. Parker; her granddaughter, Misty Cody; three brothers: Johnny, Doug and Donnie Caroll; two sisters: Sherry Layton and Debra Kominitsky.
Pallbearers were: John Parker, Scotty Parker, Ronny Parker, Blake Cody, Will Parker and Brody Parker.
