Nelda Cooper Whitlock, age 77, of Russellville, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at her residence.
Over her lifetime, Nelda had worked at Gold Kist (Pilgrim’s), and several area banks including First National, Colonial, and Bank Independent. She was a beautiful woman inside and out whose beauty never faded, and she had spunk like no other. She loved dining out, parties with the girls, shopping, Christmas, her puppy babies, and her friends. She and John had been married for the last five years and shared a beautiful love for each other, through pain and sickness, yet always finding something to laugh about. If you knew her from Pilgrim’s or the bank, you were always greeted with a beautiful smile and a heartfelt wish that you have a good day. She was loving and kind and we will treasure her memories forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Durward Kyle Kirkland and Carrie Richeson Hunter.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband of 5 years, John Whitlock; son, Kyle Cooper (Terry); stepson, Rusty Whitlock (Regina); her beloved Yorky puppies; and a host of friends.
The visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Richard Parker speaking at the service.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all the doctors and nurses that have helped Nelda over the past years.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
