Funeral Services for Mrs. Nedale Strickland Williams, age 86 of Ashland, will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Hill Methodist Protestant Church with Bro. David Holcombe officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Williams passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022 at her home. She was born in Tallapoosa County, graduated from New Site High School, class of 1954, and had lived in Alexander city for some time. She worked at Southland Manufacturing as a seamstress. Mrs. Williams enjoyed gardening and sewing in her spare time. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Protestant Church.
Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughter, Joyce Williams of Ashland; 4 grandchildren: Randy Waters Jr and Robyn Waters, both of Ashland, Jennifer Walters (Cory) of Pell City, and Ivy Williams of Tallassee; four great-grandchildren: Santana, Savannah, Justin and Michael; one great-great grandchild, Karter Leigh; her brother, Stanley Strickland of Millerville, plus several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Selmon Jasper and Lois Mable McCain Strickland; her son, Michael Lamar Williams; her brother, Troy Strickland; and her sister, Virginia Brown.
Active Pallbearers will be Brett Strickland, Cory Walters, Matt Ham, Dean Ham, Zac Colley, and Randy Waters Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Lamar Walters.
The family extends a special thank you to Clay County Hospice for their care for mother and our family.
Her visitation will take place on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
