Warren-Moore-1431079655Nathan Warren Moore, age 91, of Henderson, passed away Friday, May 8, at Henderson Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 10, at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Casey Chapel, at 2 pm with burial to follow at Memory Gardens. Family will receive friends from 4-8 pm at the chapel on Saturday, May 9.
Mr. Moore was born on November 21, 1923, to Ernest and Suvella Isbell Moore of McNairy County. In the early 1940s he drove a taxi in Henderson. He attended barber school in Memphis, beginning his career as a barber in March 1958. He owned and operated Moore’s Barber Shop on East Chester Street in Jackson for more than 50 years. He had hundreds of loyal customers throughout the years, including cutting four and five generations of hair for many families.
He married Annie Jo Rodgers on August 24, 1947, and they made their home in Henderson. They had three sons, Bud (the late Kathy), Bill (Jan) and Bob (Janeane); six grandchildren, Joe Moore ( Amanda), Molly Veazey (Jay), Julie Couch (Mark), Jacob Moore (Allison), Jordan Moore (fiancé Jeremy Howard), and Danny Hurt (Christi), and seven great-grandchildren.
He was a member of Center Ridge Pentecostal Church of God, where he led singing. He was faithful to the Lord and his church. His favorite pastime was singing and listening to gospel music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, five sisters, and a daughter in law, Kathy Moore.
