Nathan Arnold Otwell, 61 of Arab died Wednesday August 9, 2023 in Marshall Medical Center North.
Mr. Otwell was born Saturday December 23, 1961 the son of Nudy Arnold Otwell and Margaret Ann Ridgeway Otwell. Sometime after graduating high school, he served Honorably in the United States Merchant Marines for four years. Nathan was married Monday July 16, 1990 to the former Melissa Naylor. They shared their lives together for 33 years. He was known affectionally as a family man who cared for and provided for his family and grandkids whom he loved.
Nathan is survived by his wife: Melissa Otwell; two daughters: Stephanie Teston (Myles) and Melanie Otwell (Tiffany Bowden); seven grandchildren: Nate, Autumn, Alyson, Lanie, Channce, Ellie and Corbin; nieces and nephews: Adam Abbott, Jason Prentice, Samantha Jones, Beth Cantrell, Michael Prentice, Mary Prentice; several other family members and many dear friends; he was preceded in death by: his parents: Arnold and Margaret Otwell, three sisters: Sharon Willingham, Shelia Prentice and Veronica “Roni” Alexander.
Nathan’s family chose to honor his wishes of cremation. Gober Funeral Chapel assisted the Otwell Family in the completion of those arrangements. A private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
