TUPELO, MS – Calling all dogs to proudly become a Natchez Trace Parkway Bark Ranger!
Bring your dog and join a ranger at the Parkway Visitor Center on April 20, 2019, 10 am to 10:45 am. Learn how the dog, Ofi Tohbi, protected the Chickasaw and Choctaw Indians and how you and your dog can preserve, protect, and have fun on the Natchez Trace Parkway. After a short talk, dogs will take their humans for a short walk. Unless participating dogs can use a pencil, humans will fill out booklets so their puppers can receive a Natchez Trace Parkway Bark Ranger dog tag.
All dogs must be friendly, under control and on a six-foot or shorter leash. When you arrive, please keep dogs away from each other to avoid squabbles. Dogs must be current on vaccinations. Insect repellent for humans and dogs is recommended.
Kids may participate in this program as a Junior Ranger activity. If a family does not have a real dog, a stuffed, plush dog may earn a dog tag. Child/real-dog combos must be accompanied by an adult.
