dd44da467185be15c5944fda53baed7bTUPELO – The National Park Service (NPS) has released a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) decision and a final Wetland Statement of Findings. These documents analyzed the impacts of construction of an access road (milepost 262, Lee County, Mississippi) and are available to the public online at http://parkplanning.nps.gov/natr.

The purpose of the project is to provide a vehicular connection from the Natchez Trace Parkway (Parkway) to a planned road that will access the Chickasaw Heritage Center (Center).  The Center will be built on adjacent private land and a direct access to the Center is needed to realize the goals of Parkway management plans. “We are excited to foster this partnership with local and tribal governments and to provide visitors with enhanced interpretive opportunity,” stated Superintendent Mary Risser.

For more information about the Parkway, please visit our website at www.nps.gov/natr, or call 1-800-305-7417.
