investigation that resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of cocaine, a large amount of currency, and multiple firearms.

The ongoing investigation commenced with the interception of narcotics entering Madison County. Through dedicated efforts, law enforcement officials were able to identify and apprehend two individuals suspected of cocaine trafficking. Byron Kidnay Dardar Vazquez, 36, and Jose Luis Melendez Hernandez, 40, were taken into custody and charged with Trafficking Cocaine. The operation yielded two kilograms of cocaine, over $5,000 in U.S. currency, and several firearms. Both subjects were transported to the Madison County Jail Facility with a $1.5 million dollar bond each.

This investigation underscores the efforts of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office and highlights the importance of collaboration with other law enforcement agencies in the fight against illegal drug activity within our community.
