Naomi Ruth Bailey Rappsis died peacefully on Friday, April 26, 2024, at her residence at Generations in Saltillo. Ruth was born, at home in the Frog Island Community outside of Saltillo, Mississippi, on December 15, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Jeff Lee and Bessie Wood Bailey. On August 27, 1954, she married William D. Rappsis, they soon settled in Granite City, before retiring to Fulton then the Palmetto Community. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Plantersville.
Ruth was a loving homemaker and caretaker for her family and her mother in her later years.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Debra Martin (Sue Bogan) of Delaware; and Karen (Jerry) Bishop of the Palmetto Community; grandchildren, Julia (Justin) Milstead of Fulton, Shawna Hicks of Maryland, and Lane Martin of Texas; and great-grandchildren, Matilda, Stanley, and William.
Along with her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and one sister.
All family and friends are welcome to attend her graveside services to honor Ruth will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2024 at Lee Memorial Park. Pegues Funeral Directors has been entrusted with the arrangements.
