Nancy Young Hardy – Obituary

Nancy Young Hardy was born on March 10, 1948, the daughter of the late Jim Calvin and Bernice Woods Young. She was united in marriage on February 18, 1966 to Jimmy Dale Hardy, who preceded her in death on November 12, 2000. Following his death, Nancy married Randy Brewer, who also preceded her in death. Nancy departed this life on March 7, 2017, at the age of 68 years, 11 months, and 25 days.

Nancy attended both the New Life Pentecostal Church and Calvary Baptist Church. Before living in Savannah, Tennessee, she lived in La Belle, Florida. She worked in the bakery at Piggly Wiggly and as a supervisor at Wise Company before retiring from Savannah Manufacturing, where she worked as a seamstress. Nancy loved her children, grandchildren, flowers, and cooking. She was a foster mother to many children. Nancy gave her life to Jesus and enjoyed reading her Bible.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Tammy Hardy Miller and husband Bill of Savannah, Tennessee; sons, Jimmy Casey Hardy of Adamsville, Tennessee and Timothy Shane Hardy of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Brenda Young Daniels and husband Hilton of Ft. Meyers, Florida, Peggy Young Webb and husband Skooter of Florence, Alabama, and Patricia Young Whidden of Ft. Meyers, Florida; brothers, David Young and wife Kim of Waterloo, Alabama, Calvin Young and wife Laura of Florence, Alabama, Kenneth Young and wife Carol of Waterloo, Alabama, Jackie Young and wife Dawn of Waterloo, Alabama, and Tom Young, of Waterloo, Alabama; grandchildren, Adrian Childress, Cody Alexander, Colten Alexander, Crystal Alyson Miller, Shanea Hardy, CJ Hardy, and Corey Hampton; and great grandchildren, Jada Childress, Marcus Childress, Anija Combs, and Ava Nguyen.

Along with her parents and her first and second husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her son Johnny Allen Hardy; sister, Patsy Young; brothers; Alvin Young, Larry Young, and Ricky Young; and a grandchild, Taylor Morgan Hardy.

Visitation is from 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 9, 2017 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at the Calvary Baptist Church. The service will follow right after.
