Nancy Sue Shaver Brown, age 86 of Decherd, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Saltillo, Mississippi on June 8, 1936, to the late Robert A. and Avanell Thornley Shaver. Before her retirement, she worked in administration for the Franklin County Board of Education. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing the piano, listening to music, and playing bridge. But most of all, she enjoyed taking care of others, especially her beloved family and friends whom she loved to cook for. Nancy was a member of First Baptist Church of Winchester. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Brown. Nancy is survived by her loving sons, Mark A. (Cindy) Brown of Murfreesboro, and Howard T. Brown of Greenbriar; grandchildren, Heather (Barton) Taylor, Jordan T. (Tasha) Brown, and Courtney (Adam) Williams; and sister, Martha Jo Taylor of Dallas. Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Dr. Rev.
