Nancy Louise Houston

Nancy Louise Houston, 85, passed away on October 6th at Dogwood Assisted Living.  She was born October 19, 1938, in New Albany to Guy McEachin Houston and Frances Robbins Houston.  Nancy graduated from New Albany High School and the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Food Management.  She served as manager of the food services for Shell Oil, Metairie, LA, Dupont Industry, Kokomo, IN, the Federal Reserve Bank, Jacksonville, FL, and Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center, Brunswick, GA.

Nancy’s passion was cooking, and her interests were reading and playing bridge with her very special friends.  She was a member of First Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her son Gregory Power, (Roxanne Airhart-Power) of Playa Vista, CA,  granddaughter Victoria Power (Firas Arfaoui) of Grand Terrace, CA,  great grandchildren Khadija, Abdalla, and Abdalhaq Arfaoui,  sister Martha Frances Monroe (Bob), nephew Adam Dugger (Samantha) of Dallas, TX, nieces Dory Beall (Bradley) of Brentwood, TN,  Cindy Houston and Lori Shoemake of Jacksonville, Fl,  great niece Paige Beall, and great nephew Barrett Beall of Brentwood, TN, and great nephews Mitchell and Spencer Shoemake of Jacksonville, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lloyd Johnson, brother Guy McEachin Houston, Jr., and a nephew, Douglas Scott Houston.

Visitation will be in Wesley Hall at First Methodist Church on Thursday, October 10th from 5:00-6:00.
