Nancy Joyce Ayers Jenkins was born September 30, 1951 in Lutts, TN the daughter of Jesse Ayers and Lois Wright Brown. She was united in marriage to on Jimmy Lee Jenkins on August 28, 1967 and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2017. Nancy retired from Angelica Manufacturing Company, where she was a seamstress and was also a member of the Collinwood Church of God. In her spare time, Nancy enjoyed babysitting her great grandbabies. She departed this life on Thursday, March 30, 2023 in at the age of 71 years, and 6 months.
She is survived by daughters, Linda Kilburn of Murfreesboro, TN, and Belinda Gail Thompson and husband David Paul of Collinwood, TN; sons, Terry Jenkins and wife Robin of Collinwood, TN, and James Jenkins and wife Dana of Clifton, TN; brother, Billy Jo Ayers and wife Vicky of Henderson, TN; sisters, Judy Burns of Lexington, TN, and Connie Bailey of Lexington, TN; 20 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nancy is preceded in death by grandchildren, Ricky Jenkins, Leslie Jenkins, and Daniel Jenkins; sisters, Shelby Smith, Ann Ayers, Nadine Ayers, and Virginia Ayers; and brothers, Glenn Ayers, Joe Herald Ayers, and Billy Wayne Ayers.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 11:00 am at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN, with Richard Baine officiating. Burial will follow in the Cromwell Crossroads Cemetery in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
