Nancy Holland Agee, 70, a resident of Athens, passed away on July 14, 2015.
She was born on June 21, 1945, to Mary Huber Holland and Marion Grady Holland, in Athens. She attended East Limestone High School. She was married to John Luther Agee for 53 years. She was a member of Central Church of Christ.
First and foremost, Nancy was a Christian, wife, mother, sister and friend. She worked for the Limestone County School System serving as the cafeteria manager at Tanner High School, Reid and Owens Elementary from 1977 until she retired in 2007. No child was ever going to be without a meal in her cafeteria. She was a member of the AEA and NEA.
Nancy loved her family but nothing was more joyous to her than her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Being a part of their lives and seeing their activities was the highlight of her day. She would sit in the freezing cold, rain or hot sun to watch their activities. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved to travel, loved her flowers and watching her hummingbirds. She was a selfless person always wanting to help others with a huge and caring heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Mary Holland; and her brother, Joe Holland. She is survived by her husband, John Luther Agee; son, Dan Agee (Sharon), of Athens; daughter, Lynn Mayo (Jeff), of Harvest; grandchildren, Heather Agee Townsend (David), Jacob and Luke Mayo; great-grandchildren, Parker and Mary Catherine Townsend; brother, John Holland; sister, Jane Holland; sister-in-law, Judy Holland; nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends.
