A Memorial service for Nancy Gwen Sims Drinkard, 82, will be Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Joey Coots officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No visitation is scheduled.
Mrs. Drinkard passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Hanceville Health and Rehab. She was born March 18, 1942, in Jefferson County, to George Lester Sims and Flora Belle Hanvey Sims.
Nancy was born in Birmingham, during a blackout drill. She attended Holly Pond High School and then married the love of her life, Billy Hughes Drinkard on November 15,1959. She was employed by SCI in Arab for 19 years as a Line Tech and Quality Control Inspector, prior to her retirement. She was a Christian Lady and a Southern Baptist who loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. He loved flowers, trees, singing, good music, horses, reading, and talking with friends and family. She always wanted to help everyone she could and loved seeing people be happy.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Billy Hughes Drinkard, her parents, and a sister: Lou Ann Wilcutt.
